Key Personnel is seeking a Field Service Technician in Oklahoma

Job Title:  Field Service Technician
Location:  No physical location in Tulsa. Techs will start from their house and end the day at their house. Pay will begin when leaving home until the end of the day when arriving back at home.

Hours : Monday – Friday, approximately 7am – 5pm
On-Call:  Two weeks on / two weeks off for after-hours emergency calls. After-hours coverage is only for emergencies after 5pm Monday–Friday and Saturday/Sunday. Typically, technicians may receive only 1–2 emergency calls per month while on call.
Pay Range: $15-$30/hour based on Experience

Field Service Technician Job Summary

Seeking a dependable, experienced Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial foodservice equipment, refrigeration systems, and related equipment throughout Oklahoma.

This position is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys solving complex problems, working independently, and taking ownership of their work. Strong candidates will have a solid foundation in electrical troubleshooting, refrigeration, HVAC systems, mechanical repair, or commercial-equipment service.

Field Service Technician Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial foodservice equipment.
• Identify the root cause of electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-related failures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical documentation.
• Complete repairs correctly and efficiently.
• Clearly explain technical findings and repair recommendations to customers.
• Recommend appropriate repairs, maintenance, parts, or equipment solutions based on customer needs.
• Complete accurate service reports and required documentation.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels in an assigned service vehicle.
• Properly care for the company vehicle, tools, parts, and company-issued equipment.
• Work safely and professionally at customer locations.
• Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotations as scheduled.

Technicians should also be comfortable interacting with customers, listening carefully to their concerns, explaining technical findings in clear language, and recommending appropriate repairs or solutions without using high-pressure sales tactics.

Field Service Technician Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional experience as a mechanic, service technician, HVAC or refrigeration technician, electrician, maintenance technician, or in a related technical field.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a company-provided service vehicle.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Ability to lift and safely handle equipment, tools, and parts as required.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and scheduled on-call rotations when needed.
• Must provide and maintain personal hand tools appropriate for the position.
• Ability to pass required background, motor vehicle, and drug screenings.
• Commercial foodservice-equipment experience is preferred but not required.
