About Us

The Group is a multi-concept hospitality company behind some of New York's most beloved French brasseries and dining destinations, including La Grande Boucherie, Boucherie, and Olio e Più. We're opening Boucherie Upper West Side , and we're looking for a passionate, hands-on Assistant General Manager to help lead our front-of-house team from day one.

The Role

As Assistant General Manager, you'll partner closely with the General Manager to lead the planning, organization, training, and day-to-day operation of the restaurant. You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving results in sales, service quality, team retention, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

Operations

• Uphold service and operating standards across the front of house
• Ensure food and beverage are consistently prepared and served to The Group's standards
• Manage inventory of food, liquor, equipment, and supplies, and coordinate ordering
• Perform all POS functions, including opening/closing, comps, voids, transfers, and back-office administration
• Champion a welcoming, responsive, and hospitable environment for every guest
• Build and protect the restaurant's reputation, including managing online reviews and guest recovery

Administrative

• Handle cash management, deposits, reconciliation, and payroll activities
• Create and approve weekly schedules for hourly service staff
• Keep required paperwork organized and timely
• Partner with the HR team to address and resolve employee questions and concerns
• Document incidents and support a safe, compliant work environment

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop the service team to achieve company goals
• Provide clear, effective daily direction and lead pre-shifts, meetings, and trainings
• Support the performance review, onboarding, and training process for all team members
• Foster a positive, productive, and inclusive workplace culture

What You Bring

• 1+ years of restaurant management experience
• 3+ years of restaurant/hospitality experience
• Strong leadership presence that inspires and motivates a team
• Excellent communication skills; fluent in written and spoken English
• Comfort with numbers, including percentages and basic financial calculations
• Proficiency with Gmail, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and POS/restaurant systems
• Polished, professional presentation
• Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and a variable schedule based on business needs
• Ability to lift 30+ lbs and to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods

Certifications

• NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene Food Protection Certificate
