Phlebotomist

Join our team as a night shift, PRN, Phlebotomist in Claremore, OK. Responsibilities Perform specimen collection techniques including venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection instruction, and specimen culture collection instruction. Promote professionalism and collaborate with colleagues in a cooperative environment. Ensure specimens are obtained in accordance with laboratory guidelines. Communicate pertinent data or information about the patient or laboratory sample to appropriate care providers. Support organizational priorities to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Attain required competency and demonstrate the ability to follow procedural directions and protocols. Prioritize and organize workload and assist other coworkers to maintain productivity. Follow proper protocols for specimen packaging and specimen transport. Accession specimens as assigned. Practice proper infection control, patient identification, and prompt specimen transport. Perform drug screen collection and processing as assigned. Answer laboratory department phone calls. Recognize emergent conditions and respond appropriately. Provide phlebotomy services in a professional and patient‑centered manner. Engage in self‑evaluation of practice and take action to improve knowledge and skills. Retain accountability for quality of care given to the patient. Job Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred Job Requirements Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or prior phlebotomy experience. Certification from a nationally recognized agency, such as: National Health Career Association – Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT/NHA) American Society for Clinical Pathology – Phlebotomy Technician (PBT/ASCP) American Medical Technologists – Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT/AMT) National Center for Competency Testing – National Certified Phlebotomy Technician (NCPT/NCCT) American Certification Agency – Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT/ACA) Experience working in a clinical setting. #J-18808-Ljbffr
