What You'll Do — A Day in the Life

When you start your shift, you’ll open Epicor to organize incoming work orders. You’ll pull the setup instructions and blueprints, stage tooling, and load the appropriate CNC programs for either a vertical mill or a CNC lathe. As jobs kick off, you verify parameters, make any necessary edits to programs or setup notes, and get parts running to print.

Across the day, you’ll move between at least two machines you’re proficient on, performing changeovers with care and accuracy. You’ll deburr finished parts using a deburring wheel or hand tools as needed, then verify quality—measuring features with hand measurement tools to ensure parts meet tolerance. If anything drifts, you’ll make the right offsets or program edits to bring the process back into spec.

You’ll keep work flowing by scanning parts into Epicor and logging dates and job details. Between runs, you’ll complete basic preventive maintenance and keep your area organized with 5S—supporting a safe, clean, and efficient workspace.

• Operate and be proficient on at least two machines within the department.
• Execute manual changeovers with attention to detail.
• Deburr parts using a deburring wheel or hand tools.
• Perform in-process inspections; use hand measurement tools to confirm tolerances.
• Apply offsets and program edits when parts trend out of spec.
• Scan parts into Epicor and accurately log job information.
• Complete basic preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Maintain a safe, orderly work area and perform 5S tasks.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years operating lathes or mills.
• Ability to navigate CNC control interfaces.
• Experience reading and editing G-code.
• Able to lift/push/pull 40 lbs safely.

Interview Eligibility (Internal Candidates)

• No more than two (2) “Inconsistent” ratings on the most recent performance review.
• Three (3) or more “Inconsistent” ratings disqualifies a candidate.
• Any “Unsatisfactory” rating on the most recent review disqualifies a candidate.
• No more than one (1) documented written warning in the past 12 months.
• Candidates must not be on a Final Attendance warning to proceed.
