Housekeeping Manager - Public Areas

Overview The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the housekeeping, laundry, dry‑cleaning, and uniform room departments to ensure the highest degree of quality guest care at all times. The Manager will also be responsible for training new staff and ongoing training for existing staff and supervisors. Essential Functions Manage the daily activities of the Housekeeping department, including cleaning of all washrooms, guest rooms, townhomes, executive homes and public spaces. Plan, organize and direct team members to ensure high guest satisfaction. Supervise housekeeping staff and supervisors daily. Supervise ground‑keepers keeping staff daily. Schedule and train all new housekeeping staff members. Safety Compliance Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and conduct. Apply knowledge of OSHA and safety standards within Housekeeping. Ensure proper maintenance of equipment, arranging repairs or replacements as needed. Conduct pre‑arrival inspections of all rooms and public areas. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required High School Diploma or Equivalent. 3 years of management experience in housekeeping, supervising 20+ associates. Ability to anticipate customer needs, change goals, and multitask. Working knowledge of room management systems. Excellent customer service skills. Capable of using independent judgment and solid decision‑making skills. Self‑motivated and goal‑oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and responsibility. Proficiency with general office equipment. Strong organizational, coordinating, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be fluent in English.
