Job Description:

Role Overview:
- Lead the planning and provision of nursing care in our step-down unit.
- Interpret ECG rhythms accurately and manage patient care during critical emergencies.
- Supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing interventions for both stable and emergent patients.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous therapy, including blood products.
- Oversee the care and maintenance of indwelling catheters and drains.
- Ensure safe use of critical care medical equipment.
- Verify alarm settings with the Monitor Technician as per policy.
- Exhibit knowledge of lead functions and make monitoring recommendations.
- Manage post-coronary intervention care and handle femoral sheath removal.
- Care for patients after permanent pacemaker and AICD placement, as well as those with stable acute coronary conditions.

Job Requirements:
- Education:
- Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience:
- 6 months of cardiac step-down or telemetry experience within the last 2 years preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Current RN license in state of practice required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire.
