Job Title: Machine Set-up / Operator
Shift: Monday - Thursday, 7 AM to 4:30 PM, Friday - 7 AM to 11 AM
Location: Lake Forest, IL
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Requirements: Resume / Interview / Authorization to work in the U.S.
Position Summary
Our client is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Machine Set-Up/Operator to join our production team. In this role, you'll operate and set up automated wire cutting and terminating machines to manufacture high-quality products in a clean, safe, and fast-paced production environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Set up and operate automated wire cutting and terminating machines.
- Produce parts according to customer specifications.
- Perform visual inspections to verify wire gauge, color, terminals, cut lengths, and stripping specifications.
- Bundle and package completed products according to work instructions.
- Prepare leads during the cutting and terminating process.
- Interpret and follow written work orders and production instructions.
- Pull raw materials from inventory and return unused materials to their proper locations.
- Deliver finished products to the appropriate departments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow production schedules and quality standards.
- Cross-train and assist in other production departments as needed.
- Recommend ideas to improve production efficiency and workplace organization.
Qualifications
- Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn automated machinery.
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently use hands for handling materials and operating equipment.
- Occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift up to 25 pounds regularly (heavier materials may be moved using proper equipment or assistance).
- Ability to distinguish colors and perform detailed visual inspections.
