The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of first article parts and assemblies against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Utilize a wide range of precision measuring tools and equipment, including CMM, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
• Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, identifying and detailing any non-conformances or deviations.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure product adherence to design requirements.
• Initiate and participate in root cause analysis for identified defects and contribute to the development of corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
• Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and other technical documentation to ensure proper evaluation of parts.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably with First Article Inspection (FAI) experience.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications (GD&T).
• Strong knowledge of various inspection tools and metrology equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
• Ability to perform detailed dimensional and visual inspections with high accuracy.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with various measurement tools beyond CMM (e.g., optical comparators, laser scanners, specialized gauges).
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis for quality improvement.
• ASQ certifications (e.g., CQI, CQT).
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings with advanced GD&T.
• Proficiency in using quality management software (QMS) for documentation and reporting.
