This role sits within the middle office and supports power trading activities across North American markets. The firm offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment with strong visibility to senior leadership and opportunities for international collaboration. Responsibilities Lead risk oversight for power trading portfolios, including open position monitoring , valuation controls, and mark‑to‑market (MTM) assessments Deliver daily analysis of key metrics such as P&L , VaR , and exposure across trading books Validate deals and pricing within the trading system, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal risk policies Support reporting to senior management, including trading results and position summaries Collaborate with traders to identify and explain portfolio risk drivers Maintain and enhance risk models, test new calculations, and propose improvements to valuation accuracy Evaluate forward price movements and assess model assumptions against market fundamentals Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline Strong understanding of risk management methodologies, MTM, VaR, and exposure metrics Experience in North American power markets , particularly ERCOT , PJM , and CAISO Familiarity with power pricing structures and external price validation Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Python, or Alteryx Detail-oriented with the ability to work under tight deadlines Flexible with working hours to support trading operations Sponsorship is not available for this role.
