About the Role
The Company is in search of a VP, Corporate Counsel to join their team. The successful candidate will serve as a key legal partner, providing strategic and practical advice across a wide range of business functions. This role is highly visible and business-facing, with a focus on corporate governance, commercial contracting, regulatory matters, M&A, risk management, technology, and compliance. The VP, Corporate Counsel will be responsible for advising on corporate governance issues, supporting regulatory filings, and maintaining regulatory relationships. They will also be involved in strategic transactions, including M&A, and will take the lead in legal due diligence and risk assessment. The position requires a strong background in corporate generalist legal matters and the ability to partner with senior leadership to provide business-oriented legal guidance. Applicants for the VP, Corporate Counsel position at the company should hold a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and have an active bar membership in good standing. A minimum of 5-15 years' of relevant legal experience is required, with a strong background in corporate governance, contracts, regulatory, transactions, and operational matters. The role demands a practical, solutions-oriented approach to legal issues, particularly in a highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of taking ownership of evolving legal responsibilities and supporting new business initiatives. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with the business, and the company values a candidate who is self-directed and can effectively partner with various business functions.
