Technical Product Owner

Reports to: Manager of Digital Solutions Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt Position Summary The Technical Product Owner will be responsible for a mix of internal software products, IT infrastructure, and digital tools, deciding what gets built and when, while staying close enough to the work to make good technical decisions and step in when needed. Key Responsibilities Product Innovation & Software Delivery Take ownership of internal software products from requirements through release. Keep the backlog prioritized and keep delivery on schedule. Understand what’s not working or missing and use that to drive what gets built next. Be comfortable with writing and reviewing full-stack web application code (React, Node.js, TypeScript, Vite, Python) when the work requires it. Support client-facing digital projects by gathering, developing, and documenting requirements in coordination with project stakeholders. Produce high-level system architecture diagrams and technical specifications that translate client business needs into actionable solution design. Communicate technical scope and constraints clearly to both client stakeholders and internal delivery teams. Find manual processes and build automations to replace them using Power Automate, Azure Functions, mail rules, etc. Manage our intranet & AI tools, including LLM access and integrations. IT Operations & Support Provide emergency support for IT issues such as hardware failures, software problems, and access requests. Support hardware purchasing. Understand what’s needed, compare options, and report analysis. Manage software tools used throughout the company, evaluate new ones, and keep licenses in order. Write and maintain IT security policies the company operates by. Keep them updated as things change. Run security training for staff. Monitor endpoint and access configurations. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent technical certifications (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, CompTIA). 3–5 years in a software engineering or technical product role where you were responsible for outcomes. Experience managing a product backlog and working with stakeholders to define and prioritize what gets built. Able to write or review full-stack web application code (React, Node.js, TypeScript, Vite) and build workflow automations without needing help. Familiar with Microsoft 365: SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Azure AD, Power Automate, and Azure Functions. Comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences. Able to handle IT support issues directly, including hardware, software, and access. Preferred Experience Experience in a regulated industry: Biopharma, GxP environments, or similar. Some experience deploying AI tools in a business context: LLMs, prompt design, or AI governance. VR/XR development for immersive training simulations (Unity or Unreal Engine, Meta Quest/Oculus SDK).
