Environment, Health and Safety Manager

Plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, procedures, activities, and staff of the Health & Safety Unit. Lead/support technical and behavioral compliance with all Health & Safety related regulations Drive activities for a safe and environmentally sound workplace. Remain up to date with EHS related laws and regulations Communicate with the workforce and support modification of company documents and/ or practices to ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state and local laws. Act as lead advocate for safety excellence Manage, mentor, and develop Health & Safety staff; assess performance and assign project work Support the development of EHS policies and practices. Implement/maintain compliance tracking programs and record keeping systems that fully comply with federal, state, local and corporate requirements Support and coordinate regulatory submittals, permit applications, citation rebuttals and other related correspondence Actively support and coordinate all audit activities and lead the remediation for audit findings/adverse events. Drive interim and long-term solutions and avoidance Support the maintenance of emergency response procedures Drive continuous improvement in accident and incident rates and develop/implement proactive programs Implement initiatives to reduce the level of work-related accidents and/ or occupational hazards Coordinate and actively support periodic training to update leadership on their roles in the maintenance of optimal standards of safety & health Actively support initiatives to ensure campus is hazard/substance free (chemical, physical or biological). Assist with effective management of waste materials and products Support and coordinate the applications for and receipt of necessary permits Engage in an effective collaborative approach with manufacturing/maintenance leadership Support development of procedures for detection, prevention, and elimination of physical, chemical, or other related product and machine hazards Fully support the facilities’ ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification efforts. Lead and drive the plant safety committees and hold participants accountable for results Perform other duties as assigned by management REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years of related experience as an EHS professional in a manufacturing environment Bachelor's degree in occupational safety & health major; or advanced degree in a related field Firm understanding of the manufacturing process (product composition, machines and systems). Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 a huge plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
