We believe a culture of caring, purposeful, diverse and courageous humans who want to make a difference for our partners will help us achieve that mission.
How You'll Contribute to the Team:
The Superintendent I supports on-site construction activities by partnering with Senior Superintendents, General Superintendents, and Project Management. This role assists in ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, within scope, and in compliance with Corvias standards, contract documents, and applicable codes.
The Superintendent I serves as an emerging field leader—supporting subcontractor coordination, daily planning, inspections, and safety enforcement while developing independent jobsite leadership capability.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Support Senior and General Superintendents in day-to-day field execution and subcontractor coordination.
- Assist with short-interval planning, daily work sequencing, and logistics coordination.
- Promote and enforce Corvias' Zero Tolerance Safety Standard on site.
- Monitor work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and documentation for assigned scopes of work.
- Communicate schedule, safety, and quality concerns to field leadership in a timely manner.
- Support punch list completion, closeout documentation, and turnover activities.
- Maintain professional relationships with subcontractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Role Specific Requirements Include:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
- 3+ years of construction field experience preferred; commercial or multi-family experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and schedule fundamentals.
- Basic understanding of OSHA standards and construction safety practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a field environment.
- Valid driver's license required; ability to travel as business needs require.
Competencies:
Customer Focus - Prioritizes and takes action on the needs of both internal and external customers. Designs and delivers products and services with the customer experience top of mind.
Influence - Impacts others' thinking, decisions, or behavior through inclusive practices and relationship building. Drives action through influence, often without authority.
Teamwork and Collaboration - Capable of working well with others both on the team and cross-functionally to achieve individual goals, team goals, department goals, and/or organizational goals. Values diverse perspectives and working with others as a way to achieve the best output possible.
Problem Solving and Decision Making - Uses critical thinking to evaluate problems, gather information, understand causes, and identify best possible solutions. Invests time in planning, discovery, and reflection to drive better decisions and more efficient implementations.
Planning and Results Orientation - Invests time in upfront planning to achieve organizational goals and objectives while meeting quality standards, following the appropriate processes, and demonstrating continuous commitment.
Resilience - Thrives and grows in a rapidly changing and complex environment. Displays flexibility, activates networks, and adopts a continuous growth mindset to learn from mistakes and bounce back from adversity.
