This position requires strong hands-on technical expertise with rough and high-vacuum systems, mechanical and electrical components, and preventive maintenance processes. The Maintenance Mechanic works both independently and collaboratively to ensure system reliability, equipment uptime, and compliance with safety and operational standards.What You'll DoRepair, rebuild, and retrofit machinery to support efficient and safe production operationsDiagnose and resolve mechanical issues involving vacuum systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and basic electronic componentsMaintain, troubleshoot, and repair rough and high-vacuum systems; diagnose performance issues; perform helium leak detection; and install and service vacuum componentsInterpret schematics and technical documentation and interface with electrical, PLC, and pneumatic control systemsSupport equipment startups, shutdowns, and system modificationsCoordinate with engineering teams and external vendors while ensuring compliance with safety and cleanroom protocolsAssist with the installation, integration, and commissioning of new equipment and systemsDocument maintenance activities in the CMMS and adhere to the preventive maintenance programPerform light facility repairs, including basic plumbing and minor structural workSafely operate hand tools, power tools, and forkliftsFollow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and safety proceduresMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentWork near moving mechanical equipment while following required protective measuresWhat You NeedStrong mechanical troubleshooting skills – requiredKnowledge of vacuum systems, cryogenics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and basic programmable controllers and drive systems – requiredAbility to use hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and diagnostic equipment – requiredAbility to obtain forklift and other required equipment certifications – requiredHigh school diploma or GED – required; technical degree or equivalent experience preferredMinimum of 5+ years of maintenance experience – required; experience with industrial, laboratory, or semiconductor vacuum systems preferredFamiliarity with preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting methods, and vacuum leak-checking techniques – requiredAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and crawling – requiredAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and safely around moving machinery – requiredAbility to work onsite at the Rancho Cordova location – required; position may require on-call or off-hours maintenance supportWhat We OfferCompetitive salary, incentive opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits packageHealth, dental, and vision coverage effective on day onePaid vacation, sick leave, and company holidaysLife insurance and supplemental insurance options401(k) with company matchEmployee Stock Purchase PlanTuition reimbursement and educational supportAfter submitting your application, our Talent Acquisition team will review your qualifications.
