Job Summary: Deliver top-quality healthcare services by utilizing ionizing radiation to perform diagnostic imaging for licensed practitioners.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic radiographic procedures with precision and care.
• Confirm patient clinical history aligns with the procedure, ensuring documentation is accurate and accessible.
• Prepare and instruct patients to achieve optimal imaging results while easing anxiety.
• Operate radiography equipment and accessories effectively to complete procedures.
• Position patients to best highlight the anatomical area of interest, respecting comfort and ability.
• Immobilize patients when necessary for accurate examinations.
• Determine appropriate radiographic exposure techniques.
• Apply radiation safety principles to protect patients, self, and others.
• Assess image quality and verify proper identification.
• Attend to patients' physical and emotional needs during procedures.
• Employ aseptic techniques as required.
• Perform venipunctures when needed.
• Prepare, identify, and administer contrast media as prescribed.
• Verify informed consent and assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures.
• Support fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures.
• May perform non-interpretive fluoroscopic tasks.
• May assist with anchoring indwelling urinary catheters if instructed.
• Initiate basic life support when necessary.
• Educate patients by explaining tests and procedures clearly.
• Maintain assigned areas, report equipment issues, and ensure cleanliness and supply restocking.
• Contribute to supply decision-making.
• Provide practical instruction to students and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to minimum standards outlined in job descriptions.
• Use sound judgment and specialized skills to care for patients considering their age and diagnosis.

This role may require on-call duties to provide technical support or shift coverage as needed, with schedules determined by department leadership.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology.
• Computer proficiency necessary.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Must hold state certification for radiography.
• Graduate from an accredited radiography program with an active student license at start date.
• Registry eligible and must obtain R.T.(R) ARRT certification within six months of hire.

Work Shift: First shift, part-time (32 hours weekly) in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
