About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13-26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required. Neurosurgery experience preferred. License: RN license required Certifications: BLS and ACLS required (AHA ONLY) Must-Have: Epic experience required. Traveler must be willing to work with ICU and IMC patient population. Description: Evening/Night, 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30 with an every other weekend rotation and some holidays. ICU experience is required. Neurosurgery experience is preferred. Must be willing to work with ICU and IMC patient populations. Epic experience is required. BLS and ACLS certifications are required from AHA only. The traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to starting. The unit is an 18-bed critical care unit specializing in the care of critically ill adult patients with various neuro diagnoses. These include stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, surgical resections, and trauma. Candidates should possess strong critical thinking skills along with specialized interventions and procedures such as hemodynamic monitoring and hypothermia protocol. The ideal candidate will join a collaborative team of nurses alongside nationally certified physicians and other interdisciplinary care team members. Specialized equipment utilized in this unit includes EVD, lumbar drains, and CereLink monitors. Basic arrhythmia experience is required. The traveler must have experience in intracranial pressure monitoring or ventriculostomy management. Floating may be required as necessary. Travelers are required to have at least two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty. A telemetry exam will be required prior to starting, with strict passing criteria outlined.
