•     BAXIMUS is seeking a Shift Supervisor to help lead our brand-new Smashburger at Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, CA. WHAT YOU WILL DO

•     As a Shift Supervisor at Smashburger, you will report to the Restaurant General Manager and set the pace for every shift you lead. Whether you're on the grill or at the register, you'll model the standards, guide the team, and help us deliver Better Burgers. Better Teams. Better Experiences. to our military guests and their families at Naval Air Station North Island.

•     As a shift leader, you'll build a team-first culture, keep the operation running smoothly and safely, and make sure every guest leaves with a great experience — delivering better service, stronger support, and real teamwork every day.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

•     Pay: $23.00 per hour / 25-30 hours per week

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•     Lead through the BAXIMUS Vision.

•     Lead the Guest Experience — set the tone for exceptional service by modeling friendly, respectful interactions, whether on the line or on the floor, and guide the team to greet every guest with energy and care.

•     Foster a Team-First Culture — promote a positive, collaborative work environment by communicating clearly, resolving conflicts, and supporting team development during every shift.

•     Drive Order Accuracy and Efficiency — oversee order flow, verify accuracy, and ensure speed of service; coach team members to upsell effectively and work cohesively under pressure.

•     Ensure Guest Satisfaction — monitor the dining experience, check in with guests, respond to concerns promptly, and ensure each visit exceeds expectations.

•     Maintain a Safe, Clean, and Compliant Operation — enforce all food-safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards, and hold the team accountable for a guest-ready environment.

•     Demonstrate Integrity and Accountability — uphold company policies and lead with honesty and professionalism in all decisions, from shift management to cash handling.

•     Lead by Example — show up on time, in uniform, and with a positive attitude; set the standard for performance, attitude, and guest focus throughout the shift.

•     Support the Leadership Tenets — Vision, Development, Care, & Accountability.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Requirements:

•     Prior experience in food service or leadership preferred but not required — we develop strong leaders through hands-on training and support. All supervisors must complete and pass Smashburger's management training program.

•     Must be at least 18 years old to serve in a supervisory role.

•     Able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and comfortably kneel, bend, twist, and move throughout the shift in a fast-paced environment.

•     Capable of leading in hot kitchen conditions while keeping energy high and operations moving smoothly during busy shifts.

•     Dependable and available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays — leading by example.

•     Maintain a polished, professional appearance at all times in compliance with Smashburger's uniform standards.

•     Must successfully complete the background check process to gain access to Naval Air Station North Island (Coronado).

•     Strong leadership and communication skills, able to direct and motivate a team during busy shifts.

•     Highly organized; able to manage order flow, speed of service, and multiple priorities at once with attention to detail.

•     Strong guest-service skills with a calm, positive presence under pressure.

•     Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume quick-service environment.

•     Reliable and accountable with cash handling and standard operating procedures.

Additional Considerations:

Quick-service or restaurant operations experience and familiarity with military base operations are a plus.
