LOCATION DETAILS:

Rosemead, CA -Hybrid Senior AMI Meter Operations & Monitoring Specialist to support large-scale Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) environments for electric and gas utilities. This role is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing smart meter communications and operations across multi-million-meter deployments. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with AMI operations, RF mesh networks, meter communications troubleshooting, read-rate optimization, MDMS integration, and firmware/OTA management . This position works closely with meter operations, IT, field services, billing teams, and AMI vendors to ensure reliable meter communications, accurate billing data, and high system performance. This role plays a critical part in ensuring meter data integrity, operational stability, and successful smart grid deployments across the utility ecosystem. Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience supporting AMI systems, smart meters, or utility metering infrastructure Strong expertise in AMI network communications (RF Mesh, RFLAN, Cellular) Experience with meter communication troubleshooting and read-rate optimization Knowledge of MDMS platforms and interval data management Experience validating billing data flows between AMI and billing systems Experience with firmware management and OTA updates Ability to perform SQL-based validation of meter data Strong experience working with utility operations teams and AMI vendors Preferred Qualifications Experience with Itron AMI platforms (RIVA, OWOC, Performance Manager) Familiarity with Oracle CC&B or Oracle C2M billing systems Experience with Collection Engines and AMI head-end systems Knowledge of utility OMS platforms such as eTerra OMS Experience supporting FAT testing, pilot deployments, or sector acceptance Experience with RF interference mitigation and network optimization Certified Scrum Master or Agile experience Experience supporting AMI lab environments and testing frameworks Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field Advanced degree preferred If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
