CNC Lathe Setup MachinistPay: $25-40/hour, depending on experienceOur client is a full-service manufacturer specializing in thermoforming tool design and the manufacturing of high-performance, dedicated mold and trim assemblies built to exact customer specifications.We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinist who takes pride in precision machining and can confidently set up and operate CNC lathes to produce high-quality components from detailed blueprints. This is an opportunity for a skilled machinist who understands tooling, offsets, workholding, and machine adjustments—not simply a machine operator.What You'll DoSet up CNC lathes for production runs, including loading raw material, installing tooling, setting work offsets, and adjusting chucks, collets, and fixturesSelect and install appropriate cutting tools and inserts based on material and machining requirementsRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce precision componentsMake tool offsets, wear adjustments, and other machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracyOperate CNC lathes and monitor machining processes, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiencyPerform first-piece and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instrumentsIdentify tool wear, dimensional issues, and machining problems and make appropriate correctionsPerform basic troubleshooting and machine maintenance, including chip removal, cleaning, and monitoring coolant and oil levelsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety proceduresWhat We're Looking ForPrior CNC Lathe Setup experience is requiredStrong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsExperience setting tooling, offsets, workholding, and machine parametersProficiency using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring toolsAbility to recognize and correct dimensional or machining issuesStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing tight-tolerance, high-quality partsAbility to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standardsPrevious experience in precision machining, mold/tooling, or manufacturing is highly valuedWhy This Opportunity?If you're an experienced CNC machinist who enjoys setting up machines, solving machining challenges, and producing precision components, this is an opportunity to put your skills to work in a specialized manufacturing environment where quality matters.This position may be available as either a Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire opportunity for qualified candidates.
