Sierra Vista Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Receptionist for the Communications Department. We are looking for a candidate with clinical behavioral health and acute care experience. The Sierra Vista Hospital location, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in south Sacramento, is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral and addiction problems.

Position Summary

The Receptionist is responsible for greeting and assisting all visitors, answering the switchboard, preparing and coding daily receivables, maintaining the facility census book, documenting incoming deliveries, processing incoming and outgoing mail and providing clerical support as requested. In addition, the Receptionist prepares weekday deposits, prepares monthly statements for mailing, assists with various clerical duties and projects as assigned, and may assist with completing appropriate paperwork for new admissions during after-hours shifts if assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience: Prefer two (2) years experience on a multi-line telephone switchboard, preferably in a healthcare environment and any combination of education, training, or experience in a hospital environment. Additional Requirements: May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
