Litigation Associate Attorney – Proposition 65 / Product Liability
Location: San Francisco or Palo Alto, CA (Hybrid)
Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join the Product Liability, Mass Torts & Class Actions practice of a leading Am Law 100 law firm in either its San Francisco or Palo Alto office. This role sits within a nationally recognized team and focuses heavily on California Proposition 65 matters .
Key Responsibilities:
Support and manage complex litigation matters, with a focus on Proposition 65 and related product liability issues
Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support case strategy
Draft high-quality legal documents, including briefs, motions, pleadings, and correspondence
Assist with all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
Collaborate closely with partners, associates, and business professionals across offices
Interact directly with clients, providing regular updates and practical legal guidance
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and evolving legal standards
Qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school
Admitted to practice in California
2–4 years of litigation experience , ideally from an Am Law 100 firm
Experience with Proposition 65, product liability, mass torts, or complex litigation strongly preferred
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
Work Environment:
Hybrid schedule with regular in-office presence and some flexibility for remote work
Compensation:
Expected salary range: $235,000 – $310,000
(Final compensation will depend on experience, skills, and overall qualifications.)
