COMMERCIAL MANAGER

Yonkers Contracting Company is seeking a Commercial Manager to support the delivery of large, complex infrastructure projects. The Commercial Manager will serve as the senior commercial lead, responsible for protecting the Companys contractual and financial interests through proactive contract administration, change management, risk mitigation, and cost control.

This role is intended for major construction projects with significant scope complexity, third-party interfaces, and public-sector oversight. The Commercial Manager will work closely with executive leadership and the project team to ensure sound commercial strategy and successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key contact for client representatives regarding contract and scope issues
• Interpret contract documents and proactively identify commercial risks and opportunities
• Manage entitlement related to differing site conditions, design development, scope clarifications, and third-party impacts
• Manage correspondence related to scope, cost, time, and contractual compliance
• Lead the identification, evaluation, pricing, and negotiation of change orders
• Coordinate closely with project management, engineering, and scheduling teams
• Maintain contemporaneous records and documentation to preserve entitlement

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Accounting or related field
• Minimum of 7 years of commercial, contract, or cost management experience in heavy civil or infrastructure construction
• Knowledgeable about construction law and dispute resolution
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam preferred
