Fit Living Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Orthopedic Physical Therapist (OPT) to join our team in Lehigh Acres, Florida. Work Environment

This role requires an onsite presence in our clients' homes throughout Lehigh Acres, Florida. You will be working directly within the community, providing personalized therapy sessions that cater to the unique needs of each patient. Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatment to prevent disability, alleviate pain, and restore or enhance muscle function per developed care plans.
• Oversee the implementation of care plans by physical therapy assistants to ensure effective treatment delivery.
• Conduct thorough evaluations to assess patients' function and progress, utilizing diagnostic tests designed for muscle, nerve, and joint assessments.
• Evaluate home environments for rehabilitation needs, providing actionable recommendations to enhance client independence.
• Administer a variety of therapeutic exercises and treatments, including traction and massage, both manually and using physical agents.
• Assess, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating closely with physicians on necessary modifications.
• Engage in the iterative development, review, and updating of patient care plans as required.
• Monitor and document changes in patient conditions, providing feedback on therapy response to physicians and case managers.
• Maintain detailed clinical records that include evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries adhering to all regulatory standards, including OASIS documentation.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to collectively assess and evolve patient care strategies.
• Educate clients and their families on therapy devices and overall management of their physical therapy program.
• Provide mentorship and supervision to Physical Therapy Assistants while ensuring compliance with state regulations.
• Complete functional assessments and refine care plans based on evolving patient needs and community resource utilization.
• Timely submission of clinical and payroll documentation in line with company policies.
• Fulfill additional assignments as needed to meet departmental and organizational objectives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions that affect their mobility and physical performance. Many patients may have diverse backgrounds and varying levels of physical ability, requiring tailored rehabilitation programs that also consider their home environment.

Qualifications

• A graduate of an accredited physical therapy program, with a valid physical therapy license in good standing.
• A minimum of one year experience as a physical therapist in a clinical or home care setting.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license, with access to reliable transportation.
• A commitment to clinical excellence and a passion for improving patients' quality of life.
• Skills must include creative thinking, decision-making capabilities, and a proactive approach to patient care.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in an acute care or home healthcare setting is highly desired, as is familiarity with electronic health record systems and outcomes measurement methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits
