Fire Protection and Plumbing Engineer

\n \nAbout the Opportunity
\nA well-established MEP and fire protection consulting firm in Manhattan is growing and looking for a Fire Protection and Plumbing Engineer to join its team. The firm has hired steadily this year, has very low turnover, and runs a busy, fast-moving practice with a steady flow of projects across New York City. If you're a strong, efficient designer who likes seeing a lot of work move across your desk, this is a great place to build your career.
\n \nWhat You'll Do
\nDesign sprinkler, standpipe, and fire pump systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings in NYC
\nDesign domestic water, sanitary, storm, and gas piping systems
\nPerform hydraulic calculations and size fire protection and plumbing systems
\nProduce clear, accurate construction drawings in Revit and AutoCAD
\nMake sure designs meet NFPA standards, the NYC Building Code, NYC Plumbing Code, and FDNY requirements
\nCoordinate with the mechanical and electrical teams on multiple projects at once
\n \nWhat We're Looking For
\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, or a related engineering field
\n4 to 5+ years of fire protection and/or plumbing design experience with an MEP consulting firm
\nSolid working knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, and 20
\nHands-on experience with Revit and AutoCAD
\nFamiliarity with hydraulic calculation software
\nSomeone who works quickly and accurately, can handle several projects at once, and takes pride in turning out quality drawings
\nNice to Have
\nEIT, FE, or NICET certification
\nExperience with NYC DOB and FDNY filings
