Relocation assistance is available for candidates currently based in the U.S. and authorized to work for a U.S. employer.What You’ll DoYou’ll work on a small team building high-performance, mission-critical devices with low-latency communication requirements. Axon has a portfolio of robust imaging and communication products that help law enforcement do their jobs and keep people safe every day. In this role, you will tackle challenging engineering problems in spaces like audio/video processing and generative AI to bring new features and products from inception to scale, thoughtfully balancing speed and the high bar for stability necessitated by the mission-critical nature of our products. Collaborate cross-functionally to architect and launch new user-facing features and productsDesign and drive initiatives to improve the availability and reliability of our backend systemsContinuously help improve the engineering processes and tools that allow us to scale the codebase and teamProvide mentorship to less experienced engineersTravel occasionally to support customer deployments and onsite implementationsWhat Makes You a Great Fit5+ years of software engineering experience, including designing, building, and operating complex production systems.Hands-on experience developing real-time communication platforms or other low-latency, real-time systems.Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.Proven experience building highly available, fault-tolerant, and resilient services at scale.Expertise in reliability patterns such as redundancy, failover, graceful degradation, recovery, and observability.Demonstrated technical ownership of business-critical systems in which performance, uptime, and reliability are essential.Experience adopting and effectively integrating AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, and deliveryBenefits that Benefit YouCompetitive salary and 401k with employer match Discretionary time off Paid parental leave for all Medical, Dental, Vision plans Fitness Programs Emotional & Development Programs And yes, we have snacks in our offices Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards.
