IT Lab Computing Support Specialist

Salary: $79,040 - 99,840 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience supporting laboratory computing and regulated computerized systems in GMP environments.
• Strong knowledge of GMP principles, Good Documentation Practices, and controlled technical execution.
• Proven troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills across applications, instruments, and infrastructure.
• Experience with change management, testing, verification, and full system lifecycle support.
• Ability to collaborate with Quality, Laboratory Operations, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and vendors.
• Clear technical writing and communication skills, sound technical judgment, and ability to work independently.
• Preferred: experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other highly regulated laboratories.
• Preferred: experience with CSV or CSA, laboratory informatics, and instrument-to-system interfaces.
• Preferred: knowledge of Windows-based laboratory environments, virtualization, networking, databases, and enterprise interfaces.
• Preferred: experience with data-integrity assessments, change control, deviations, CAPA, and audits or inspections.
• Preferred: project leadership and mentoring experience.

• Provide senior-level ownership and support for GMP laboratory computing systems and services.
• Maintain reliable operation of applications, computerized systems, workstations, instruments, interfaces, and infrastructure.
• Lead troubleshooting and incident response, coordinating across technical and business teams.
• Manage system lifecycle work, including implementation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning, with complete documentation.
• Perform work in line with GMP requirements, SOPs, work instructions, and quality processes, applying a risk-based approach.
• Assess, plan, and verify changes through approved change control, including acceptance criteria and rollback strategies.
• Develop and perform risk-appropriate testing and verification, and support CSV/CSA activities with complete evidence.
• Apply data-integrity controls to electronic records, access, audit trails, configurations, interfaces, and data flows.
• Support incidents, deviations, and investigations through root-cause analysis and CAPA verification.
• Create and maintain accurate technical documentation and configuration records in accordance with Good Documentation Practices.
• Mentor engineers, establish consistent engineering practices, and encourage accountability and continuous improvement.

We are seeking a GMP Lab Computing Services (LCS) Engineer to support compliant, reliable laboratory operations. We are TSR, a staffing and workforce solutions company with more than 50 years of experience supporting clients business and technology initiatives. Since our acquisition in June 2024 by BCforward founder and CEO Justin Christian, we have expanded access to global delivery resources and broader workforce capabilities. This is an onsite, 12-month opportunity in Bothell, Washington, with potential to extend and a pay range of $38–$48 per hour on W-2. The schedule begins with an 8 a.m.–4 p.m. shift for one month, followed by one month of training on an 11 a.m.–7 p.m. shift, then an ongoing 3 p.m.–11 p.m. shift.
