Business Manager for Parish (EX)

Position Overview St. Peter the Apostle Parish, located in Oakland, Maryland, seeks candidates for a Business Manager. The Business Manager reports to the Pastor and is responsible for the efficient and effective stewardship of the temporal goods of the Parish. They maintain an in-depth understanding of the Mission of the Catholic Church and the Parish and bring that understanding to all considerations. This is a 30‑hour per week position with benefits. Essential Functions Direct and manage all Office personnel & activities – Office Secretary, Maintenance Supervisor, & Bookkeeper/HR Coordinator. Attend Archdiocese of Baltimore (AOB) Business Manager Zoom Meetings. Coordinate with the Director of Parish Outreach Center for any facility issues. Oversee all parish properties and facilities and work with the Facilities Committee on upkeep, repair, or improvement. Monitor all financial statements in QuickBooks weekly, working with the Bookkeeper to ensure accuracy of parish financial reporting. Complete the Monthly Financial Report for the Parish Council. Report line‑item monthly financial statements for the Finance Committee and meet with Chair and members as requested. Develop the Annual Budget for submission to the Finance Committee and obtain approval from the Regional Comptroller. Review and approve Payroll Submissions for Office Personnel. Perform other duties as identified by the Pastor. Position Qualifications Minimum 5 years’ experience as a business manager or in a similar role. Full VIRTUS Compliance. Financial and supervisory experience, preferably in a Catholic Parish setting. Competency with QuickBooks and AOB Financial Reporting responsibilities. Undergraduate Degree in Finance/Business (Master’s degree preferred). Pay & Hours Pay Rate: $24.26 hourly; 30 hours per week.
