Lab Technician

Back Lab Technician Location: Ankeny, IA. Contract: 5-month with potential for long term. Pay: up to $22.65/hr, depending on experience. Description Lab Technician performing laboratory work in a high throughput environment. Receives, identifies, and prepares samples according to ISO work instructions, ensures proper labeling and analytical requests, prioritizes analysis work based on customer needs, coordinates projects, obtains analytical data, maintains data integrity, and collaborates with multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver results efficiently. Responsibilities Receipt, identification, and preparation of samples, ensuring labeling accuracy and optimal analytical requests. Preparation and analysis of samples following ISO work instructions. Prioritization of analyses based on customer priorities and laboratory capacity. Organization and coordination of projects in a high throughput lab environment. Obtaining analytical data, ensuring data integrity, and delivering laboratory results efficiently. Work within instructions and guidelines, under immediate supervision, typically reporting to a supervisor. Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field (e.g., Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology) or related field. At least three years of relevant industry experience; directly applicable experience may substitute for degree. Preferred hands‑on experience with total combustion analysis, elemental analysis, calorimetry, GC, NIR Spectroscopy, NMR, total oil analysis, colorimetry, falling number, farinograph, mixograph, bench‑top wet chemical analyses, LIMS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
