Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Imaging Scheduler/Coordinator to schedule and coordinate diagnostic and interventional imaging patients. The role will validate referrals, orders, eligibility, and authorizations while coordinating with patients, providers, and imaging departments.
Responsibilities
- Schedule diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures using Epic .
- Validate referrals, physician orders, insurance eligibility, and authorizations.
- Handle STAT/emergency imaging requests and scheduling issues.
- Coordinate patient care with providers and internal departments.
- Assist patients with appointments, directions, and general inquiries.
- Troubleshoot scheduling and patient/provider issues.
- Apply knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT codes, and imaging procedures.
- Maintain HIPAA standards and provide professional customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 2+ years of full-time clerical experience.
- Epic experience.
- Experience with imaging/clinical scheduling .
- Experience validating referrals/orders and insurance eligibility/authorizations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher.
- Previous imaging/radiology department experience .
- Knowledge of ICD-10/CPT codes and imaging authorization requirements.
- Experience with diagnostic/interventional imaging.
- Knowledge of relevant lab values for imaging procedures.
