Job Summary

This position works directly with students, parents, faculty, and staff. Collections of student accounts and routine accounting work. Work requires knowledge of fiscal policies and procedures applied in an automated accounting system. Work involves maintaining accounting records and participating in the work of a unit engaged in collecting, recording, and disseminating financial data. Employee is responsible for receiving and disbursing cash, high level of customer service skills, and general office duties. Answer high volume of telephone calls and give assistance in a friendly and professional manner. Provides back up support for lead cashier. Provides technical assistance for online services.

Responsibilities

Cashier - 35
- Collection of students' account payments.
- Receiving and disbursing cash from students, faculty, and staff.
- Provide backup for lead cashier.
- Provide customer service to parents, students, faculty, and staff by answering telephones and Business Office email.

Accounting Duties - 40
- Process supplier set up with USG Shared Services and/or enter into PeopleSoft Financials.
- Process simple accounts payable payments and/or purchase order payments.
- Print/Write up all purchase orders.
- Assist other Accountants with processing vouchers.
- Provide customer service to the entire campus.
- Process and collect any outstanding checks and ACH payments.

Reconciliations - 20
- Perform daily credit card reconciliations.
- Submit monthly journal to record credit card charges.
- Assist other Accountants with other reconciliations.

Other - 5
- Perform other clerical duties as needed

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; AND at least three years of experience in accounting, collections and/or banking.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
Experience with PeopleSoft Financials and Banner Student System.

Proposed Salary

This position is a pay grade 6. The available salary range is $34,441.00 to $43,941.00. Starting salary within this range is based on relevant years of experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of Cash handling experience, preferably in banking.
- Microsoft Office.
- Banner Student System.
- Electronic Check Scanning systems.
- General bookkeeping, accounting, and reconciliation knowledge.
