Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid South Carolina teaching certification in Special Education (SPED)
• Experience working in a special education/resource classroom setting
• Strong commitment to student advocacy, individualized instruction, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Thorough understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with diverse learning needs in a resource classroom for 37.5 hours per week
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), adapting lessons to ensure each student’s success
• Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Maintain a supportive, structured, and engaged classroom environment that fosters student growth
• Communicate proactively with families regarding student progress and strategies for success
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives to promote inclusion and student achievement
