Role Purpose The HR Consultant supports the Plant HR team to ensure that the plant establishes and maintains a positive work environment and operates as One Corning in support of Corning’s values and proactively addressing employee concerns, fostering open communication, and promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity. Assists in successful implementation of global HR business processes within the plant. Key Responsibilities Takes ownership for specific HR initiatives that support the effective operations of the organization by developing and/or delivering HR programs (e.g. training, communications). Identifies employee value proposition issues affecting turnover and works with Plant HR Manager to identify actions for improvement. Partners with leadership to develop and execute action plans that improve engagement, communication, and overall organizational effectiveness. Establishes and maintains a presence on the plant floor to keep a read on the pulse of the organization. Manages and mitigates employee concerns by ensuring supervisors and leadership are creating an open forum for discussion and resolution of plant issues. Resolves employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner that protects the needs of the plant to operate in an effective and efficient manner. Coaches and counsels plant management in development and demonstration of leadership and management practices required to establish and maintain a positive work environment. Utilizes employee feedback to drive continuous improvement in employee retention and engagement. Leads initiatives that enhance the employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee involvement, and recognition. Experiences and Education – Required Bachelor’s degree (Human Resources, Business, Organization Development, or Labor Relations preferred) Minimum of 5 years of HR experience (generalist/specialist, manufacturing experience preferred) Successful track record in the deployment of global HR business processes or programs. Knowledge of employment laws and policies. Required Skills Strong knowledge of HR practices, processes, and employment laws and regulations. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing HR documents, records, and data. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software. Ability to maintain professionalism, handle sensitive situations, and build relationships with employees at all levels. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of employment laws and regulations related to HR administration and recordkeeping. Strong listening skills Able to deliver difficult feedback Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict Able to influence and confidently make decisions and recommendations Able to lead meetings that involve stakeholders at all levels of the organization This position does not support immigration sponsorship. Compensation The range for this position is $79,519.00 - $109,339.00 assuming full-time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
