ILocation: Wichita, KS 67218 and Wichita, KS 6723 5Schedule: 8:45 AM – 5:45 P MPay Range/Salary Range: $19 - $2 2Contract Duration: 2+ month s Key Responsibiliti esPerform venipuncture and other specimen collections (e.g., urine and fecal samples) using straight and butterfly needle s.Verify patient identity, physician orders, and laboratory requisitions before specimen collectio n.Accurately label, centrifuge, split, freeze, package, and store specimens according to established protocols and temperature requirement s.Explain specimen collection procedures to patients in a professional, courteous, and reassuring manne r.Maintain specimen integrity during processing and transportatio n.Update patient information and maintain accurate documentation within laboratory system s.Perform routine equipment maintenance, decontamination, and record maintenance log s.Assist with troubleshooting, workflow improvements, and training as assigne d.Respond to telephone inquiries and communicate laboratory information as appropriat e.Adhere to OSHA, DEP, HIPAA, and all organizational safety and quality standard s.Participate in required annual training and departmental education program s.Maintain a high level of punctuality, attendance, and professionalis m.Qualificatio nsHigh School Diploma or GED require d.Valid Phlebotomy Certification, where required by state regulation s.Minimum of 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced hospital, laboratory, or patient service cente r.Overall 2–4 years of healthcare or phlebotomy-related experience preferre d.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer application s.Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skill s.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detai l.Demonstrated knowledge of specimen handling, processing, and laboratory safety procedure s. Work Environment & Additional Deta ilsAverage Blood Dra ws: Approximate ly 35 draws per d ay.Work Setti ng: Clinic-bas ed Patient Service Center (P S C).Patient Volu me: The site serves approximate ly 80–120 patients da i ly.Standing Requireme nt: Ability to stand and remain active f or up to 8 hours per sh i ft.Patient Populati on: Collect specimens fr om patients of all age gro ups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populatio ns.Team Environme nt: Work collaboratively with a team of 4–6 healthcare profession a ls.Traini ng: Initial onboarding and training typically las ts 1–2 we eks, with ongoing learning and support throughout the assignme nt.Health Requiremen ts: Candidates may be required to provi de Hepatiti s B a nd Tuberculosis ( TB) documentation in accordance with facility requiremen ts. Training locations may vary based on trainer availabil ity. Required Educ ation 1. High school diploma or equiv alent 2. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training pre ferred 3. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Was hington Work E xperience 1. Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary co llections 2. Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred 3.
