Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients in an outpatient setting, focusing on treatment, symptom management, and patient education. Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and uphold safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments following established protocols.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and manage side effects promptly.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medication management, and self-care.
• Document patient assessments, care plans, and interventions accurately in electronic health records.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including certifications and licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care effectively.

Qualifications:

• Hold at least 2 years of experience in oncology nursing, preferably outpatient.
• Possess a valid California RN license and active certification in BLS, ONS/ONCC; OCN certification preferred.
• Demonstrate familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system.
• Meet all travel compliance requirements including recent supervisor references, relevant certifications, and active licensure.
• Flexibility to work day shifts (4x10 hours) without weekend, float, or on-call requirements.
• LVNs must have IV certification; MAs must possess an accredited certification.
