OB Hospitalist Opportunity in Lafayette, LA

You'll step into a high-volume, inpatient-only OB Hospitalist role with immediate clinical demand and strong referral flow. This is a true laborist position in a women's and children's setting with robust specialty backup and a clear plan to expand the physician team. Practice Overview

• You'll join an expanding OB Hospitalist team moving toward a dedicated 24/7 model with two physicians on-site per 12-hour shift
• 100% inpatient: L&D management, emergent/scheduled C-sections, operative deliveries, ED GYN consults, and inpatient rounding
• Integrated support from CNMs, L&D RNs, lactation specialists, pregnancy navigators, and daytime APP coverage for triage/rounding
• Strong specialty resources including in-house anesthesia, on-site neonatology, and employed MFM support for complex cases

Schedule

• Full-time expectation: 14 twelve-hour shifts per month (1.0 FTE)
• Shift-based model with required nights/weekends in the rotation; no clinic and no home call
• Post-shift time is fully protected with no call-backs or remote responsibilities
• Typical volume: 2-4 deliveries per shift (approximately 2,500 deliveries annually across the service)

Candidate Requirements

• MD/DO with BE/BC in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Comfortable managing L&D, operative deliveries, and C-sections in a high-acuity environment with specialty backup
• Open to new graduates and experienced physicians
• Visa sponsorship considered
