Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown care. The nurse will work in a unit dedicated to managing adult patients with stroke and related medical conditions.

Schedule

Shift: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM (Block scheduling is not guaranteed).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a stroke stepdown unit.
• Monitor patients with various diagnoses, including stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, COPD, and pneumonia.
• Utilize specialty equipment such as IV pumps and feeding tubes.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN license in New York with active status.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing with specific experience in stroke stepdown care.
• Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS can be obtained prior to start).
• Drivers license must match submitted demographics.
• Skills checklist matching the specialty is required.
• NURSYS report verification for all active RN licenses is mandatory.
