As a Business Initiative Associate in the Commercial & Investment Bank’s Loan Trading team, you will promote process optimization, business transformation, and operational excellence across Loan Trading. Working closely with Operations, Technology, Product, Controls, and Business Resiliency partners, you will identify opportunities using structured analysis, translate them into clear requirements and prioritized initiatives, and drive end-to-end execution to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, mitigate risk, and support strategic business objectives.

This position is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, leading change initiatives, and delivering scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Job responsibilities

• Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and operational risks within Loan Trading Operations and recommend sustainable solutions.
• Lead and support business initiatives focused on process optimization, automation, and operational excellence.
• Partner with Technology and Product teams to design, prioritize, and implement strategic enhancements.
• Gather stakeholder feedback to identify pain points and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate operational risks and collaborate with Control partners to implement effective mitigating controls.
• Support business resiliency activities by maintaining and enhancing continuity and recovery plans.
• Ensure operational procedures are accurately documented, regularly reviewed, and aligned with current practices.
• Maintain and oversee Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) governance and policy adherence.
• Monitor initiative progress, remove obstacles, and drive timely execution of deliverables.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational discipline.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Over three years of expertise in syndicated loan operations, business management, process improvement, project execution, or related disciplines.
• Proficient understanding of syndicated loan processing and familiarity with industry platforms such as Loan IQ and ClearPar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven capacity to identify root causes and deliver effective solutions.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities and successfully driving initiatives to completion.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects and workstreams end-to-end, including planning, milestone tracking, dependency management, stakeholder communication, and delivery.
• Solid knowledge of operational risk management, controls, and governance practices.
• Effective collaboration skills across Operations, Technology, Product, and Control functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various organizational levels.
• Proficiency in documenting business requirements, procedures, and process workflows, coupled with strong organizational and execution skills.
• Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset and adaptability in dynamic environments.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

• Experience supporting transformation, automation, or strategic business initiatives.
• Familiarity with business resiliency and access governance processes.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or project management methodologies.
• Ability to leverage data and metrics to drive business decisions and operational improvements.
• Developing experience using AI-powered analytics, workflow automation, or intelligent process tools to drive efficiency gains, reduce manual effort, or improve accuracy in operational processes
