Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to collect case history.
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients; administer psychotropic medications and monitor responses.
• Make nursing diagnoses and collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design appropriate treatment plans.
• Administer medications, document reactions, and arrange further medical attention when necessary.
• Maintain a safe, secure environment; monitor for safety and de-escalation; manage pain as indicated.
• Document all patient information in medical records, maintain confidentiality, and complete progress notes; perform routine administrative tasks (filing, phones, computer entries).

Requirements

• Active New York RN license
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
• CPI Certification
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Inpatient behavioral health experience preferred
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays; on-call/callback as required
