About The Role Peraton is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a DoD customer in our Linthicum, MD office. The role focuses on cyber investigations, digital forensics, threat analysis, and mission support within a dynamic, collaborative environment. Maintain smooth operation of multi‑user computer systems and coordinate with network engineers. Monitor and manage system resources (CPU, disk usage, response times) to maintain operating efficiency. Perform systems security administration – create user profiles, manage accounts, and configure API keys. Set up administrator accounts, maintain system documentation, tune performance, install system‑wide software, and allocate mass storage space. Interact with users, evaluate vendor products, and recommend hardware/software purchases. Coordinate installation, provide backup recovery, and develop policies for computing resource allocation. Implement, maintain, and manage physical and virtual systems and upgrades. Assign responsibilities to less experienced staff and support centralized anti‑virus and patch management systems. Perform all other duties as assigned. Location: Fully onsite required in the Baltimore metropolitan area. Qualifications Required Experience: Building and deploying physical and virtual servers. Active Directory Domain and Forest design, implementation, and management. Strong familiarity with Group Policy Objects (GPOs). PowerShell scripting and Windows domain services. DoD security hardening (STIG/SCAP). DNS configuration and troubleshooting. Knowledge of network security principles (firewalls, IDS/IPS). VMware administration and troubleshooting. Omnissa Horizon administration and troubleshooting. SAN, NAS, RAID, and file‑system management. Backup technologies. Experience with ACAS, Splunk, and SolarWinds. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience; or Master’s degree and 6+ years of experience; or 3 years with a PhD. Degrees in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity are highly desired. Active CompTIA Security+ certification. Active TS clearance, SCI eligible. Desired Certifications: CASP+ CCNP Security CCSP FITSP‑O GFACT Desired Qualifications: Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity. CI/CD automation (Ansible/Terraform). Cloud services (Azure/AWS), including disaster recovery planning and execution. Gitlab and Trellix experience. Details Target Salary Range: $135,000 – $216,000. Salary depends on scope, experience, education, skills, and geographic location.
