AR Collections Specialist - National Accounts

Position Summary The Sr. Credit and Collections Specialist is a key member of the Account / Credit Department, assisting the team with timely and accurate cash collection and supporting the Accounting Manager (Credit) to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations of the company’s receivables for National Accounts such as Dick’s Sporting Goods. Responsibilities Collect accounts receivable balances for National Accounts (e.g., Dick’s Sporting Goods and Costco). Investigate miscellaneous deductions and chargebacks related to short ships, business development/Co‑Op deductions, returns, defective allowances, etc. Gather supporting documents to resolve open chargebacks and, with approval, create credit memos. Maintain the SOP for deduction types, ensuring internal and external contacts are up to date and document process changes. Maintain a detailed summary of aged balances and track resolution steps. Understand key contract details with customers and customer platforms for dispute resolutions. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or higher preferred. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial statements. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Enhanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office. Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in decision‑making. 5+ years of experience in credit analysis, collections, or accounts receivable. Customer service orientation and ability to build positive relationships with internal and external partners. Preferred Qualifications NACM or related certifications. Experience with NetSuite. Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate: $27.50 - $34.00 (actual salary based on experience, location, education, and skills).
