Established in 1952, the medical center sits on a 34-acre campus overlooking the surrounding residential area and serves veterans from across northern and central New Jersey as well as parts of the New York metropolitan region. The facility is classified as a high-complexity VA hospital and provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including primary care, cardiology, gastroenterology, dermatology, ophthalmology, mental health, and specialty surgical services. The medical center also supports numerous veteran-focused programs such as prosthetics services, diabetes education, pulmonary rehabilitation, homeless outreach, and research initiatives addressing war-related illnesses and injuries.ResponsibilitiesRoutine and specialized vascular ultrasound tests. Capture and document images and findings. Document preliminary reports in electronic patient records. Communicate findings to providers. Maintain supplies and perform equipment care and troubleshooting. Serve as liaison between the vascular lab and internal/external customers. Review consults and schedule appropriately. Ensure patient safety and infection control compliance. Respond to patient and provider inquiries. Perform emergency response and basic patient care as needed. Medical Instrument Technologist (Vascular Technicians or Vascular Sonographers) operate diagnostic equipment using ultrasound to record vascular information such as vascular blood flow, blood pressure, limb volume changes, oxygen saturation, cerebral circulation, peripheral circulation, and abdominal circulation. Registration is offered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International, (CCI) as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)ScheduleFull-time, 8A-4:30P Mon-Fri.RequirementsLicensure and certification . Current, full, and unrestricted licensed to practice Vascular Ultrasound Technology in any state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia. Must be registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and certified in general vascular technology by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). BLS or ACLS required.Experience . Minimum 2 years of vascular experience preferred. In-depth knowledge of vascular anatomy and disease. Ability to perform and interpret a wide range of vascular studies. Proficiency in Doppler imaging, waveform analysis, and intracranial exams.
