About the Role

On our client’s 3rd shift in Sussex, you’ll be the go-to expert who ensures every setup runs right the first time. This is an on-site, Temp-to-Perm path where high-precision machining meets dependable production. You’ll switch between mills and lathes, dial in setups, and keep quality tight so every part meets spec.

A Day in the Life

You start by reviewing blueprints, job travelers, and routings to understand the plan. You set up and adjust CNC mills and lathes for the next production run, confirming accuracy and repeatability. Throughout the shift, you monitor cycle performance, run in-process checks with gauges and visual inspection, and document everything—labels, forms, and production records—clearly and completely. When a machine needs attention, you troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance to keep the line moving safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision parts to method and quality standards.
• Adjust tooling/offsets and verify repeatability across production runs.
• Conduct in-process inspections using gauges and visual checks.
• Accurately complete production documentation, labels, and forms.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience setting up and running mills and lathes (or a strong, relevant machining background).
• Confidence reading and interpreting blueprints, job travelers, and routings.
• Skill with gauges and visual inspection methods for in-process verification.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to approximately 40 lbs.
• A reliable attendance record and steady work history.
