2027 Future Talent Program - Manufacturing Intern

Merck is recruiting interns for a 10-12 week summer 2027 program at the Durham, North Carolina manufacturing site. Participants will work in Technical Operations, Quality, Operations/Supply Chain Management, or Automation, engaging in process development, compliance, continuous improvement, and documentation projects.

Responsibilities

Develop, optimize, and implement manufacturing technologies and analytical methods
Support process technology development and transfer to commercial operations
Participate in cross-functional teams on continuous improvement and problem-solving projects
Author and update GMP documentation and technical system documentation
Utilize data analytics to analyze process performance and identify improvement opportunities

Requirements

Currently pursuing bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, science, or related field
Minimum one year completed undergraduate coursework in engineering or science major
Expected graduation between Fall 2027 and Spring 2029
Available for 10-12 week internship starting late May or early June 2027
Legally authorized to work in United States; no visa sponsorship provided
Preferred minimum GPA of 3.0
Problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills

Compensation: $39,908 - $111,111
