Work Environment

This position is onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility, ensuring that our staff and patients have access to the latest medical technologies and resources. Your regular working hours will be Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed medical histories, thorough physical examinations, and necessary diagnostic evaluations to determine the most effective pain management strategies.
• Collaborate with attending physicians to create and implement individualized treatment plans that address patients' specific pain management needs and optimize health outcomes.
• Perform a variety of procedures and minor surgical interventions, such as joint injections or nerve blocks, with the supervision of the physician as required.
• Educate patients about their medical conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle strategies that can aid in pain relief and enhance overall wellness.
• Maintain meticulous records of patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-ups to ensure seamless continuity of care and adherence to medical standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant in the Pain Management department, you will work with a diverse clientele, ranging from those with acute injuries to patients experiencing chronic pain conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, and neuropathic pain. Your role will be crucial in assessing their specific needs and providing empathetic support throughout their treatment journeys.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, ideally in pain management or a related specialty.
• Strong clinical acumen with the ability to work autonomously while adhering to defined scope of practice.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• A commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care at all times.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in pain management settings or with pain-related conditions will be granted preference, allowing you to leverage specific skills and insights into patient care.

Compensation and Benefits
