Step into a rewarding full-time special education teaching position for the 2025–2026 school year, where you'll make a real difference in the lives of high school students. This contract opportunity offers a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with an optional Monday meeting (4:00–5:00 PM) for an additional paid hour.
Be part of a supportive and collaborative environment with a manageable caseload of 14–18 students. You'll deliver personalized support through inclusion, resource room, and push-in services, ensuring students receive the specialized instruction they need to thrive. Whether you’re an experienced educator with an active Michigan SPED License or working towards your endorsement, your commitment to student success is what matters most.
Qualifications:
- Active Michigan Special Education teaching license preferred; those in the process of obtaining will also be considered
- Prior experience with high school-aged students is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and management
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for partnering with general education staff and families
Responsibilities:
- Serve as IEP caseload manager for a group of high school students
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and reevaluations
- Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to each student's unique needs
- Foster positive relationships and maintain open communication with educators and parents
