Warehouse Worker

Job Summary

Under minimal supervision and guidance coordinates all outgoing shipments by following established Company guidelines. Assists in warehouse responsibilities as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Ensures that orders are shipped on time. Communicates status with Sales/Customer Service and other departments as necessary.
• Responsible for preparing necessary paperwork (i.e., packing slips, bill of ladings, etc.)
• Schedule carrier pick-ups and shipments. Maintains a daily log.
• Enters receiving records for materials and enters into MAX
• Ships via FedEx, Ups and various other carriers.
• Maintains a general filing system for shipping and receiving documents.
• Pulls orders accurately in preparation for prompt shipment and incoming shipments.
• Verifies and enters receipts of incoming shipments.
• Verifies information and qualities on the packing slip against the purchase order, counts items for verification and indicates any discrepancies.
• Loads and unloads trucks utilizing a forklift.
• Prepares orders for shipment, pulls orders from stock, stacks on pallet according to size and weight utilizing forklift and shrink warps pallets.
• Picks up finished product from production area and stocks in designated warehouse area.
• Participates in physical and cycle inventories. Works to resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate to management/lead all maintenance and safety issues.
• Performs operations and safety check on equipment prior to using it.
• Ability to work and communicate with others.

Other (Non-Essential) Functions

Includes functions which are normally performed by persons holding this title. However, these functions may be reassigned to other employees as part of a "Reasonable Accommodation" under the ADA.

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

• The physical demands required while performing the duties of this job includes: required regularly to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, twist, talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and an ability to adjust focus.
• This position requires operating material handling equipment.
• The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals and heat. Exposure to noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud and requires hearing protection and safety shoes.

Job Requirements

• High School education or equivalent.
• 3 years' experience in warehouse functions and procedures.
• Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds.
• Must be forklift certified.
• Basic computer experience for data entry.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• The minimum related language skills required for this position is the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisor.
• This position requires an ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
