Field Service Engineer 2 - Kansas City Metro OR Central Iowa

Field Service Engineer 2 supports customer success by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting genomic sequencing instruments across Kansas City Metro or Central Iowa. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and field organizations to maximize instrument uptime and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, repair, and maintain instrument systems while providing onsite technical assistance to customers
- Troubleshoot customer issues and resolve complaints while maintaining positive relationships
- Manage service parts inventory and coordinate prioritized service requests for optimal intervention
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and regional support teams on new placements, upgrades, and contract renewals
- Document and maintain current service manuals, SOPs, and facilitate remote troubleshooting connectivity
Requirements
- Minimum two years of field service experience
- BS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree with biotechnology knowledge
- Experience with optical alignments, robotics, electrical systems, and mechanical systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven problem-solving ability
- Familiarity with genomics, sequencing applications, and bioinformatics
- Willingness to travel up to 70% within Kansas City Metro, Central Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and nearby states
- Knowledge of lab best practices, lab safety, and regulated environments
Compensation: $74,900 - $112,300 base
