About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Med/Tele)

Contract | Night Shift | 7p–7a | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on a 32-bed telemetry/cardiac unit serving adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, sepsis, pneumonia, ETOH, COVID (BiPAP), and acute-on-chronic conditions
• Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Nipride, Lasix, and low-dose Dopamine
• Read and independently interpret telemetry strips
• Manage PCU-level overflow patients at a 1:3 ratio in addition to standard Med/Tele assignments (1:4–5)
• Assist with RT equipment including BiPAP, trachs, and Airvo as needed
• Float as helping hands to other areas including PCU, Med/Surg, and ER holds/boarding as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PCU experience required
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac/telemetry strips required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates may not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity Health

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Background in telemetry and cardiac nursing strongly preferred
• Familiarity with titratable drip management in a step-down or PCU setting
• First-time travelers welcome
