Financial Controller

The Controller is responsible for the overall finance and accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, weekly cash reporting, and maintenance of the balance sheet and P&L accounts. This position is responsible for providing accurate financial reports and analyses that will assist executive leadership, and other users, in making educated, economic decisions about the Company’s future. Responsibilities Responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, proper GL coding, and timely processing Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements, profit and loss statements and balance sheet analysis for Finance Director review Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account schedules Review account reconciliations and analysis of all key accounts; prepare schedules that support general ledger balances, maintain amortization schedules, account histories, research reconciling items, etc. Reconcile reimbursements and bill back for co-op charges incurred. Update and maintain chart of accounts and GL coding. Maintain the monthly schedules for deposits on purchases, accrued purchase account reconciliations, and accrued in-transit inventory analysis. Prepare and post manual general ledger journal entries based on account reconciliations. Review quarterly calculations and reconcile quarterly excise tax calculations to the general Conduct the preparation of the daily banking advance and weekly collateral reporting and inventory certificates. Conduct the review and verification of electronic treasury functions such as wires and foreign exchange transactions. Review sales tax, commercial activity tax, and tangible property tax returns Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data Participate in a variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports Conform with all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions Review and post inventory adjustment batches provided by Supply Chain Manager Prepare quarterly financial reporting surveys for the US Census Bureau Gather data and prepare 1099 tax forms annually. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. Responsible for the regular control of accounting transactions Adheres to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company. Wears all necessary Personal Protective Equipment directed by the Company at all times. Demonstrates sound working knowledge of firearms safety. Maintains and keeps workstation and department area clean. Immediately reports any maintenance and/or safety issues to Management. Demonstrates a positive attitude toward co-workers, other department and the Company. Maintains respect, courtesy and professionalism toward all co-workers and the Company. Communicates clearly and effectively with co-workers and management. Actively participate and support the 5S process within the work area on a daily basis. Other duties will be assigned as required. Minimum of BA/BS in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred but not required) 10+ years’ experience in Accounting, Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting and statutory reporting knowledge and experience Experience with banking and treasury management Proficient in State and federal regulations Sound knowledge of payroll tax, VI, and wage and hour regulations Experience with Microsoft Excel (must be strong on pivot tables, look-up functions and using complex formulas) Strong analytical and organizational skills Ability to work independently Excellent attention to detail Ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple assignments in a timely manner Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O is preferred Working Conditions Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment and eexposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds ofnormal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.
