FSP - Scientist - Analytical Chromatography

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an analytical scientist to execute chromatographic and capillary electrophoresis methods for biologic characterization at a customer site in San Diego. The role focuses on hands-on laboratory testing of peptides, antibodies, and therapeutic molecules using established analytical protocols.
Responsibilities
- Execute SEC, RP-HPLC/UPLC, and IEX chromatographic methods on biologic samples
- Perform capillary electrophoresis-based assays and data analysis
- Prepare samples, standards, buffers, and mobile phases per established procedures
- Evaluate system suitability, data quality, and troubleshoot analytical issues
- Communicate analytical findings and coordinate testing timelines with senior scientists
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, immunology, biology, or related field
- 2+ years of relevant experience or master's degree
- Proficiency with HPLC, UPLC, size-exclusion chromatography, and capillary electrophoresis
- Experience with ion-exchange chromatography and analytical method execution
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
